"Cardboard Carolers"
Get the kids involved in the holidays. Christmas crafts for kids that are easy and festive. Create cardboard carolers that can be arranged on a windowsill or mantel.
This caroling crew hits all the right notes for spreading holiday cheer! They are also a great way to reuse outgrown baby socks.
Supplies You Need:
Scissors
Cardboard tubes (paper towel or toilet paper tubes)
Paintbrushes
Tempera paint
Colored paper for face and mittens
Sheet music (print out a page online and make copies)
Black marker
Pink pencil
Glue
Three baby or child's socks
Yarn
Directions:
1. Cut cardboard tube into three slightly different lengths and paint in three contrasting colors; set aside to dry
2. Cut mitten shapes and face ovals from the colored paper
3. Trim three small rectangles from the sheet music, then fold the rectangles in half to resemble songbooks
4. Using the black marker, draw faces on the ovals, give your carolers rosy cheeks with the pink marker
5. Glue the faces onto the painted tubes, and the mittens onto the sheet music, then glue the mittens to the tubes
6. For hats, trim the feet off the socks and disard them. Fold an end of each sock tube into a cuff and stretch it over a caroler's head, and tie the top of the hat closed with yarn (into a bow)
