Crafts Made of Craft Foam

Let's get the family together and make crafts out of craft foam. Fun and simple crafts, starting with the "flip-flop scrapbook" and a "sea-creature vase."

Fun project for teachers to use in the classroom. Kids can use the scrapbook to show-off pictures from a field trip or put photos of self and give to Mom or Dad as a gift. Fill the "sea-creature" vase with flowers and give to Mom on "Mother's Day."

"Flip-Flop Scrapbook"

Supplies You Need:

A flip-flop (to trace)

Craft foam

Cardstock or heavy-duty construction paper (your choice of colors)

Silk flowers

Pipe cleaners or chenille sticks

Hole punch

Craft glue

Scissors

Directions:

1. Trace a flip-flop three times onto foam and numerous times onto the construction paper or cardstock to make scrapbook pages

2. Cut out the flip-flops

3. On one foam flip-flop, punch a hole halfway down each side. Punch a hole near the toe

4. Push two pipe cleaners through the toe hole, and twist them together until they reach the two side holes. Spread the pipe cleaners apart, and put one into each side hole. Bend them under the flip-flop, and cut off the extra

5. Glue a silk flower to the pipe cleaner (on the toe); let dry

6. Glue another foam flip-flop to the back of the decorated flip-flop

7. Punch a hole in the heel of each flip-flop shape. Slide a pipe cleaner through the holes to attach the scrapbook pages and covers. Twist the pipe cleaners into a ring

8. Glue favorite pictures onto the pages

Tip: Add special touches by decorating with stickers or scrapbook cut-outs
