Wonderful Craft Ideas

"Soothing Bath Salt Rubs"

Pamper Mom or a friend with the scent of fresh raspberries. Wonderful craft ideas come to mind when we want to show someone special just how much we care. Make this fantastic bath salt rub and put it in a decorated jar and give it to someone you love. A gift that will not be forgotten!

Supplies You Need:

2 4lb. cartons Epsom salts, divided

6 c. sea salt, divided

14 drops raspberry essential oil, divided (or any oil of your choice: vanilla, jasmine or lavender are wonderful scents)

14 drops red food coloring

12-12 oz. jars and lids

Directions:

1. Empty one carton Epsom salts into a large mixing bowl
2. Add 3 cups sea salt, and stir well
3. Mix in 7 drops oil
4. Mix well and set aside
5. In a separate mixing bowl, combine remaining salts and stir well
6. Add remaining oil and red food coloring, stir until completely blended and colored
7. Holding each jar at an angle, layer salts in jars, alternating white and colored mixtures, seal lids
8. Makes 12 jars

Tip: Attach gift tags with ribbon or roll up in a towel and tie each end with wide ribbon--a great Mother's Day gift!!

Hint: Keep an eye out for vintage jars at flea markets, garage sales and antique shops. Old-fashioned canning jars make salt rubs even more special!
