St. Patrick's Day Green Crafts
Serve up St. Patrick's Day smiles! Green crafts that will bring cheer to the table with minimal effort. St. Patrick's Day seems like more of an occasion for raising a pint than a gathering for a scrumptious meal. It's a perfect opportunity for getting back in touch with friends and family. Start with these clover coasters, dress up napkins with shamrock rings, light up luck with a clover pond, and enchant everyone with a sunny spring green setting.
Clover Coasters
Use a piece of simple felt (which doesn't fray when cut) and cut out clovers using a template. To keep it on the sophisticated side, use just one shade of green and one shape for a statement look. Simply trace the clover shape onto a piece of felt, then cut out.
Clover Pond
Floating candle arrangements are inexpensive and cast the most flattering light around. To create this glowing splash of green, just fill a bowl with water, then add white blooms or petals, faux clovers and floating candles. You can achieve the same look by replacing floating candles by placing votives in clear glass holders that are taller than the waterline, placed inside the bowl. This is a great centerpiece!!
Shamrock Napkin Rings
Cut out a four-leaf clover shape from green felt, then pierce a corner using a hole punch and thread onto a basic key ring (available at hardware stores).
Tip: You can enjoy these shamrocks as napkin rings at your dinner party, and later use as lucky key rings!
Tip: Enchant everyone with a sunny spring green place setting. Start by layering two green table runners across a crisp white tablecloth. Then set the table with white dishware customized with snippets of clip-art grass.
Garden-in-a-Glass
Create this meadow by stacking three one-inch thick slices of presoaked floral foam, having the base layer fitting tightly in the bottom of the vase. The next two layers should be stacked on like a pyramid, with each piece cut two-inches smaller than the one before. Skewer holes into the foam, and insert clovers into the top layer, grassy blades in the middle layer and daisies in the bottom. Beautiful!!
