"Button Flowers"
Spring is on its way! Jump start the growing season with kids arts and crafts, starting with these "button flowers." These cheery blossoms will brighten up any rainy day and they are a cinch to make.
Supplies You Need:
Stiff construction paper Flower shaped cookie cutters Scissors Pipe cleaners Buttons
Directions:
1. Trace flowers onto construction paper using the cookie cutters
2. Cut out flowers from different colors of construction paper
3. Choose buttons that match your flowers
4. Center a button with the middle of your flower
5. Poke a pipe cleaner through your flower so that it comes up and through the first hole of your button, then poke it down through the next hole in the button and through your flower
6. Twist the short end of the pipe cleaner around the long end, directly under the flower and button
7. Make enough flowers to make a beautiful bouquet
Tip: You can also use as pendants by attaching a safety pin to the back. This would make a perfect gift for mom or a teacher!
