"Pressed Flowers"
Preserve those "special" flowers our children give us or have our young ones do kids craft projects that will allow them to scrapbook their favorite spring and summer flowers.
Supplies You Need:
Heavy books
Waxed paper
Paper towels
Cut flowers, pansies are the easiest (you'll get the best results if you use small flowers with thin stems)

Directions:
1. Tear off a piece of waxed paper twice the size of a page from your book and fold it in half
2. Open to the center of the book and slip the waxed paper inside. This will protect your book from any moisture that may come out of the pressed flowers
3. Place a paper towel between the waxed paper pages and arrange your flowers so that they do not touch
4. Cover the arrangement with another paper towel and carefully close the book
5. Stack a few more books on top and let it sit for a couple of days, so the flowers press flat
6. Arrange the flat flowers in between the folded waxed paper, and place a dish towel over the top and iron with the iron set on "cool" setting (only use iron under supervision of an adult)
Tip: A wonderful idea to keep the flower sheets is to use a hole punch and punch holes down the side and put the waxed paper pressed flowers into an album or binder. Our children can continue to add to it and it is beautiful to look at!
