"Creative Mud Pies"
Let kids get creative with their own dirty work. Here are two outdoor crafts that will let kids play in the dirt and be creative. Lots of fun but a bit "messy."
Supplies You Need:
Cupcake liners
"Mud batter"
Natural objects, such as berries, flowers, and pebbles
Creative imagination
Directions:
1. Place the liners in a cupcake pan
2. Fill the liners with mud batter
3. Decorate the cakes with the natural objects
Tip: Spend the morning on a nature walk, and along the way have the child collect "decorations" for their mud pies. Wonderful way to spend quality time with them, and let's their cakes be unique!!
"Mud Bricks"
Supplies You Need:
Ice cube tray
Spoon
"Mud batter"
Directions:
1. Fill an ice cube tray with mud batter
2. Compress each block with the back of a spoon
3. Allow the "mud bricks" to dry in the sun
4. Remove the bricks from the tray
5. Have the child use the "mud bricks" as building blocks, they can make a brick tunnel to drive their toy trucks through
