Shamrock Crafts
Simple and fun shamrock crafts for the whole family. Leprechauns, horseshoes, four-leaf clovers...every year millions pay homage to old St. Patrick in hopes that some of the "luck of the Irish" might rub off on them.
Get into the "luck" by making your own "lucky charm. Start with this shamrock made from a coffee filter. This craft is easy enough for our preschoolers and kindergarteners.
Supplies You Need:
White coffee filters Food Coloring (yellow and blue) Scissors Eye dropper or straw Shamrock template
Directions:
1. Trace the shamrock shapes onto the coffee filters and then cut out
2. Mix together 2 Tsp. water and 5-10 drops of yellow food coloring; do the same for the blue
3. Use an eye dropper or straw to drop colors randomly on the shamrocks
4. The colors will run together to make green
5. Hang to dry by using a clothes pin and string draped across a doorway
Tip: Legend has it that each leaf on a four-leaf clover means something: The first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck!
